How to edit and create moving images for products

Recently on TikTok, I combined short clips of how I retouch product images to achieve a seamless background and the way I create a moving image (GIF) after the retouching is complete.

The layer mask on Photoshop has become my best friend when looking to achieve those crisp, seamless background effects. Even when using a paper backdrop, sometimes the texture will still show. Of course, as a Photographer, ultimately I have the choice of keeping the background as is or invest the extra energy & time to have the background completely seamless. The seamless background option is also a good idea if:

  1. The background color isn’t even

  2. I want to achieve a custom color

  3. A client requests this type of editing style

These images were produced during a test shoot while practicing shutter speed skills for movement. Here, the hand model would release the dropper with my direction, as I tried to capture the stillness of each oil dripping down.
